Quantitative Reasoning

Data Insights2045 minutes

The Data insights section has 20 questions, each of which may require more than one response. The questions in this section ask you to draw conclusions based on information in the table, interpret graphs, understand information presented across different layouts, and sometimes find two answers leading to a single solution, (data sufficiency has been included).

The Quantitative Reasoning section contains 21 questions in Problem Solving.

The Verbal Reasoning section contains 23 questions in three formats – Reading Comprehension, and Critical Reasoning, which are also mixed throughout the section.

There are few “experimental” questions scattered throughout the test. They look just like the other multiple-choice questions but won’t add to your score.

The GMAT Focus Edition is a computer adaptive test and so these rules are applicable:

  • You can bookmark questions that you would like to review later
  • You can edit up to three answers in a section
  • You can’t skip questions.
  • Within a section (Verbal or Quantitative), the questions are not grouped by topic or type.
  • There is a penalty for unanswered questions.
